About the Choir

The very first World Migratory Bird Day Virtual Choir is here.
We want you to be a part of it!

The East Asian-Australasian Flyway Partnership and the Bowerbird Collective invite you to join this fun (and free!) choir experience, to sing with people from all around the world, and to give your voice for migratory bird conservation. Simply record yourself singing like a bird along to the newly created song (there are no lyrics, so language barriers), and in a few short steps you’ll become part of an international choir making history!

Watch on Facebook or YouTube (coming soon) on the 8th of May, 2021.

Launched in 2006,  World Migratory Bird Day  (WMBD) is an annual and global awareness-raising campaign aimed to highlight the ecological importance of migratory birds and the need for the conservation of migratory birds and their habitats through international cooperation. Each year, people around the world celebrate WMBD on the second Saturday in May and in October. WMBD is convened by The Convention on Migratory Species (CMS) The Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (AEWA) and Environment for the Americas. It is a key awareness-raising activity to the EAAFP. Learn more here.

The EAAFP was launched on 6 November 2006 and aims to protect migratory waterbirds, their habitat and the ecosystem services provided by the wetlands in the East Asian-Australasian Flyway. There are currently 39 Partners including 18 countries, 6 intergovernmental agencies, 13 international non-governmental organisations (NGOs), 1 international organization and 1 international private enterprise. Learn more about the EAAFP here.

The Bowerbird Collective creates new multimedia work that tells conservation stories, with the aim of strengthening emotional connections to the natural world. We tour extensively, with a focus on performing in regional areas, and work with national and international conservation organisations to further their objectives. Learn more here.
